I live in a city with constant construction. You can’t walk more than a few blocks without seeing something under scaffolding, hearing the deafening sound of a jackhammer, and likely breathing in some sort of questionable dusty material. And while all this commotion can be frustrating at times, it’s a great reminder that we, too, can keep building and creating.

There’s a bittersweet moment every September when tearful goodbyes to sunshine and warmth mix with shivers of excitement for the crisp, autumn days nipping at summer’s barefoot heels. The smoky smell of burning wood fills the air, chunky sweaters and worn leather boots become the new weekend uniform, and, best of all, comfort food reclaims its rightful place at the table.
